2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at Devonshire Arms, Bedford BF. Mid amber with a slight white head. A faint malty aroma. Rather thin tasting with just a hint of pear. Not bitter enough in my opinion.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I tried this alongside the stronger Suffolk Pride from the same brewery. Curiously, the Moletrap had a more marked and defined malt aroma, leading into a good balance between sweet malt and dry hops in the mouth. The finish ends up dry and quite bitter. A pretty decent session bitter, but a bit thin. Cask (gravity), Catford Beer Festival.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask Conditioned, at the Catford Beer Festival, 2004.
Bronzed colour, slightly maltier then the pride. The drop in strength is clearly the difference. Without the additional strength and flavour the beer pulls up a little bit short of acceptable.
