Gravity dispense at the twelfth Twickenham Beer Festival - 18/10/12. Clear golden with a thin bubbly off white head. Malt dominated nose with sweet caramel tones, light orange and a good pinch of spice. Tastes of toffee, sweet malt, apple, tangy fruit and spice. Medium bodied with bite lending towards a dry finish.

BeerViking (2315) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2012 Cask/handpump at the Red Lion. Nose was promising, with peach, a touch of banana, and green herbs, then the palate brought marmalade and burnt treacle, a hint of syrup and roast nuts, a little fruit-cake. The let-down was the harsh bitter finish. Re-rate at the Twickenham Beer Festival 2012, light amber with a toasted caramel nose and a nutty, slightly toasty flavour and a dryish finish. A good cask-conditioned interpretation of the classic Bavarian style.

berkshirejohn (4403) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2009
Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Copper coloured with a ring of cream head; cinnamon and Christmas spice aromas; mulled wine flavour with autumn fruit - plums and blackberries - but also dry and biscuity; the finish is like a rich, brandy-soaked fruit cake. Excellent.

Cask conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Hazy golden color. There is a light apple vinegar character in this mellowish Golden Ale. Pleasant but simple.

harrisoni (13286) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 21, 2007
Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Gold/copper with no head. A bitter/marzen mix. Sweetish, drinkable. Has a lagerish tinge. Some hop. Fine.
