Cask handpull, The Felix, Nuneaton, 17/11/12. Creamy gold lined with lace. Lemon curd and weak flowers on nose. Floral, lemon zest, tweak of smoke, deep biscuit notes. Slightly astrigent afters. Doesn’t convince.

Orange, small frothy head. Nice grainy aroma, pale malts. Very nice husky bitterness. Very refreshing and quaffable. Solid traditional bitter.

Bottle from a Suffolk farm shop. Blond with a frothy white head. Light citrus aroma. The taste is grassy with lemon citrus and light spice. Some madarin too. Refreshing summer drinking.

Cask @ Secklow Hundred (JDW), Milton Keynes. Deep lager yellow, perfect tight white head. Light aroma of lemon with a minty, almost astringent, sharpness. Taste is a bit more pedestrian: a fresh, sweetish start succumbs to a slightly acrid bitter finish and aftertaste. Still, a decent enough beer for a tick.

Cask at The White Lady JDW. Pours clear gold, thick white head. Aromas of lemon and honey malt. Taste is light sweet, light lemon. Bit sweet and thin on the finish. OK.

Cask. Clear pale yellow/orange with a small white head. Grass, hay, light citrus, a bit low on flavour and a little bit thin. Long dry and bitter finish. Not very thrilling in terms of flavour, but the finish is pretty nice.

On cask at the White Lady. Appearance - golden with a slight haze and a decent head. Nose - grassy and pale malt. Some honey. Taste - honey and lemon over pale malt. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that is a combination of dry hops but sweet honey too. Overall - tasty but could get a bit sickly.

Hand-pulled pint in my local Spoons on 29th May 2014. Light amber body with a full and lasting white crown on top. Pleasant enough blend with an aroma that leaned towards a grassy, floral nature that wasn’t very powerful. The taste was maltier than the nose indicated, so fruit notes with a biscuit feel, dry mini-bitter finish. OK, but nothing to set it apart from so many similar beers.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2014 Good hoppy taste. Enjoyable but not most attractive looking beer. Also a little too bitter for me but fine beer

Nicely spicy and bitter pale ale, with malt and lemon aromas, but a bit too cloudy, and the nose too bready. End of the barrel?
