Very still beer with a thick head. The aroma for a bitter is very fruity, and its taste is hoppy with fruit aftertones that leave a tingle in the mouth. The beer is different and a lot better than many of the bland beers of this style.

Now, this is a bitter to help me forget about all those mediocre British bitters! Cough syrup aroma, though not unpleasant (is that a contradiction? No, I happen to like some cough syrups!). Substantial, attractive flavors of caramel, vanilla, hazlenut, honey, grape, and some alcohol. Unnoteworthy amber appearance, but forget about that, the real pleasure is when it is in your mouth. A little thin, but deeply satisfying. (on tap, Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford)

Smooth texture, with a very hoppy taste. The fruity taste combines well with its floural smell.

ante (3374) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 7, 2006
Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Brownish amber. Strong earthy, grassy and almondy aroma with touches of wood and peat. Dry earthy flavour with notes of dark chocolate, toffee and red apples. Rather full and robust body. Long dry, bitter aftertaste of soil, nuts and salt. Very nice full-bodied and tasty bitter served in perfect condition.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Golden pour withb a foamy, white head. Sharp, baked malts on the nose. Lightly sweet flavor, oddly smokey, lightly, with hints of ham and band-aids. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Modestly sweet finish, some bread and crisp malts, faint bitterness. I can dig it.

Sampled cask conditioned at Oliver Twist, Stockholm.
Hazy dark amber. Sweet and fruity with soft mouthfeel. Medium bitterness in a finish with some resiny hops.

Ethereal (2417) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Cask with Mes at the Market Porter, 2nd Sept 2007. Dark blonde colour with no head. Aroma of alcohol and pineapple. Sweet malt flavour at first and then the alcohol comes through, which makes it nicely warming. Rich, smooth finish. Very drinkable!

[Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm] Amber colour. Aroma from grassy hops and a bit phenolic. Sweetish, soft mouthfeel, bit soapy flavour with notes of pomegranate. Pretty big body at this abv-level. Light-medium bitter.

Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Amber coloured with good white head, nice lacing. Light, malty, hoppy and fruity. Good, had a few.
