tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 10, 2012
Tasted this in The Esquire house, Glasgow (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Hint of green apple in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Weak pale malt gives a slight tea biscuit base with raisin fruit. Sweet notes fade abruptly to give weak hop resins imparting a tart bitter aftertaste. Finish is slightly sweet with barley sugar notes but blandness dominates. A poor session bitter.
