Bottle. Poured a hazy orange amber with a bubbly but quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma has notes of light malts, fruits, honey and a bit of spice. Flavor has some clear light citrus notes with some cinnamon and honey. Surprisingly light for a christmas beer.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 umich03jm (184) - Michigan, USA - APR 29, 2012
Nice winter beer aroma with a mix of spices. A lot of cinnamon but also some orange and ginger. Taste starts off spicy and there is enough malt to back it up but the aftertaste is bad. Hot alcohol comes through a bit too. Almost a really good beer.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 DrSilverworm (1042) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2012
22oz bottle, 2011 vintage. Hazy orange-brown color, tan head. Little lace. Sort of sharp, abrupt carbonation. Aroma is not very strong, masked by a more prominent booze taste. What’s there, is the orange and cinnamon spice, but it’s not very good. Like a spicy cough syrup, sort of. Light bitter and tart-sweetness. Some acidity in the texture, and chalkiness. Not a very enjoyable holiday ale.
