Served in snifter at brewpub. Pours copperish amber with small tan head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, dark malts, light hops, and some dark fruits. Flavors of brown sugar, caramel, dark fruits, light hops and citrus, with good malt back bone. Nice balanced sweet barley wine. Pretty damn solid barley wine.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep amber colored body with a thin, creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is big on the deep caramels and toffee. Some dark fruits and figs with a light, earthy hop. Flavor is nice. Lots of figgy caramels and toffees. A nice hopping for a balanced bitterness with some sweet pines. A bit of a sherry flavor too with a nice brown sugar sweetness. A few fruity esters come out at the end while this dries pleasantly and leaves a fairly lengthy aftertaste with a bit of chocolate coming out. Medium-full, smooth body with a light, creamy carbonation. Overall, a nice barley wine. Big malt backbone with a solid hop balance. Nice, figgy dark fruit and estery, sherry flavors with a pleasant sweetness. I liked this one a lot.
