Creamy malt dominate the aroma and flavor. There is also some toast and an even, balanced bitterness in the flavor as well. A slight citrus flavor is present in the dry finish. Medium-bodied. This is a typical Irish-style Red Ale.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Sample at the brewpub: Clear copper color with a medium thin off-white head with steady dissipation except for an island in the middle. Rings of lacing througout the glass. Mildly malty nose. Light, clean body with an earthy malt character. Some hops are there too. The finish is round and sweet. Pretty average through and through. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 5, 2006 draft - Dark amber color, almost no head, some lacing. The malty aroma is very light. The body is kind of thin and too bubbly. This mouthfeel seemed to be a common problem as I worked my way down the brewery sampler board. The beer description said "well hopped", which is in my opinion wrong. The hops are actually pretty light. It’s an okay beer but could be a lot better. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Dec 26, 2005 This draft brew from the brewery poured a unnoted head size of foamy finely sized mostly diminishing off-white colored bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was transparent and light brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of malty mild . Its mouth feel is initially tingly with a lingering slightly tingly bubbly palate. Its flavor contained mild malty mild caramel mild red notes. A below average brew.
