3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dogbrick (6008) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 12, 2006
Sample at the brewpub: Clear copper color with a medium thin off-white head with steady dissipation except for an island in the middle. Rings of lacing througout the glass. Mildly malty nose. Light, clean body with an earthy malt character. Some hops are there too. The finish is round and sweet. Pretty average through and through.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 j12601 (5609) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 4, 2010
On tap at the Oliver House part of Maumee Bay on our way to RBSG. Pours a clear copper rouge with a medium sized beige head, a little scummy looking. Really nice toast note, a little cherry. A bit sweet, and a metallic almost plasticy note. Slow toast and bitterness on the finish.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JAN 26, 2010
Draft pint at the brewpub. Comes out with the expected red tinge and caramel notes in aroma in flavor. This beer boils down to a middle of the road stock recipe, not bad, not really that good either. (#3798, 1/22/2010)
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 26, 2005
This draft brew from the brewery poured a unnoted head size of foamy finely sized mostly diminishing off-white colored bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was transparent and light brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of malty mild . Its mouth feel is initially tingly with a lingering slightly tingly bubbly palate. Its flavor contained mild malty mild caramel mild red notes. A below average brew.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - DEC 22, 2004
Small sample at the brewpub. Sweet, tangy, simple malty nose...dark amber/red...watery, overcarbonated body with woody and diacetyl-dominated flavor profile...seems off.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - APR 23, 2005
Draft at Maumee Bay BC & Restaurant. Small sized tan fizzy head that quickly dissipated, sparse lacing, fine-small sized bubbles, carbonated, tranparent, and an orange brown hue. Malty sweet aroma. Sweet, malty and hoppy flavor.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 patrick767 (3169) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 5, 2006
draft - Dark amber color, almost no head, some lacing. The malty aroma is very light. The body is kind of thin and too bubbly. This mouthfeel seemed to be a common problem as I worked my way down the brewery sampler board. The beer description said "well hopped", which is in my opinion wrong. The hops are actually pretty light. It’s an okay beer but could be a lot better.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jsquire (2953) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - APR 17, 2003
Amber color with little aroma or head. Some malt sweetness and some hops in there, but not much going on interest-wise. It is very quaffable, but other offerings here are more interesting.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 shigadeyo (2400) - Harrison, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2007
7/20/2007: Maumee Bay Fallen Timbers Red Ale pours a clear, depp honey-amber color with a small off-white head. Creamy malt dominate the aroma and flavor. There is also some toast and an even, balanced bitterness in the flavor as well. A slight citrus flavor is present in the dry finish. Medium-bodied. This is a typical Irish-style Red Ale.
Draught at the Oak Room during the Ohio Brew Week in Athens, Ohio. Rating #13 for this beer...
