Bottled. Copper colour, mediumsized foamy off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is alcohol, sweet malts, caramel, mild toasted notes as well as some slight ripe fruits. Flavour is ripe fruits, sweet malts, caramel and toffee along with some slight ashy and alcoholic notes. A bit sweet, otherwise a rather nice dunkel bock.

(Flasche) Es hat eine sehr dunkelbraune Farbe mit minimal rotem Einstich. Es ist klar filtriert und hat eine schneeweiße Schaumkrone. Das Aroma ist malzig-süßlich, das wars. Geschmacklich ist es eher schlank, malzig und garnicht bitter. Zusammengefasst, recht durchschnittlich.

500 ml bottle picked up at Maruhn in Germany. Is a deep, dark brown with an; off-white head. Aroma has bready nose, more nutty and herbal. this is not sweet bread, but dried, old brown bread, sweetened with liquorice. Slight sourish edge, even. Reasonably full-bodied. more interesting than a lot of Bocks. Palate is smooth and spicy. Very good

Pours a dark clear brown, with a generous white head.
Smells of caramel malt, spices and some oxidation.
Feels very creamy smooth.
Tastes heavily of bready malty goodness and caramel.
Finishes somewhat dry.

Very dark brown reddish colour with small off-white head.
Dry malty floury aroma with caramel and raisins. Flavour is dry mild bitterly hops, strong caramel malt, dark fruits and biscuit. Quite sweet.
There’s nothing wrong with this.

Malzig-kaffeemäßiger Geruch, in dem einige Fremdaromen stecken. Malziger und süßlicher Start. In der Mitte erscheint das Bier würziger um anschließend moderat malzig auszuklingen. Kaum alkoholisch.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Malty,fruity and slightly spicy aroma with a hint of fruit cake. Rich,fruity and malty taste with notes of dried fruit,caramel and mince pies. Not bad and fairly easy to drink for the strength.

0.5 l bottle. Dark reddish brown color. The aromas of raisins, toffee and alcohol. Sweetish toffeish flavor with raisins, nuts, bread crust and boozy alcohol. Fairly boozy, low drinkability.

Dark mahogany color with red shades; generous, compact head. The aroma is somehow disappointing, with corn, paper, some caramel. The body is just a bit stronger than a regular Lager, not much Bock; there is a quite strong caramel flavor, but with a dryish feeling; also, some chestnut honey flavor; but in general, no sweetness; some mildly roasted nuts, and a late light touch of liquorice. The bitterness is medium-low, coming from the caramelized sugars. Very average.

Bottle 50cl from bierzerg.de. A clear brown beer with good brownish head. Nose is on spices. Aroma is medium sweet, toasted and caramel like with an intense spice presence such as cloves, light notes of anis, bit oxidate / maderisation, cardamom, notes of licorice. Finish is on bitter caramel, not bad but I expected something more syrupy and complex.
May be the bottle was a bit old, to be drunken on 22-09-11 so in 3 month.
