Jan 7, 2008 Thick rich malty sweet flavor that balanced out well with crisp spicy hops. I am not a big fan of Scotch ales, but this one was not too bad. Generously boozy, but not too overpowering. Good rainy day brew.

Jun 11, 2007 Rich and malty up front with a clean hop finish. I would like a touch more of hops for a bit more balance, the sweetness overwhelmed a bit. A solid beer that gives a nice departure from the IPAs and pales.
