Draft. Poured deep brown with a thin tan head. Aroma was roasted malt, light chocolate. Flavor was that plus some very light fruity esters. Medium mouthfeel, a bit astringent.

Sample at brewpub. Comes dark brown with a small biege head. Aroma of roasted malt and chcolate. Taste is chocolate, malt and some dark fruit. Finishes somewhat bittersweet. Decent.

draft. pours a clear brown with purple highlights and almost no head. slightly toasty nose with sweet dark fruits. flavor was light with some fruity banana and a couple of plums. not much cocoa. light body.

Appearance: Served a medium-to-dark brown body, clear, and with a small-sized, light beige head.
Smell: A nose of toasted, far-off stewing fruits, and Dutch cocoa.
Taste: Starts off with toast, than chocolate powder followed by a tiny hint of caramel. Moderately sweet. Develops some bittersweet chocolate earthiness late in the taste. Faint esters. Gentle, lightly chocolaty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Lightly carbonation.
Overall: Has a decent flavor, but the body and carbonation always leave me wanting.

Dark, almost black coloured beer with a very small off-white head. Heavy roasted malty aroma with hints of chocolate and coffee. Full, light creamy palate. Finish is bitter sweet, roasted chocolate malty, with a longer bitter roasted finish. Not bad.
