4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 platzap (5) - Georgia, USA - AUG 14, 2010 does not count
Some servers at the brewpub will aim you toward this as Max’s lightest offering - making one think maybe this "Gold" is a "training" beer. Don’t be fooled! If you love a HOPPY as hell PILSNER, the current version on tap now is one of the best I’ve ever had. YES...it rivals Victory Prima Pils- Huge aroma, delicious hop flavors - fantastic! Now is the time to try this beer again.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hank1980 (942) - Athens, Georgia, USA - MAR 4, 2010
Tap at brewpub. Appearance is gold with a nice white head. Aroma of floral hops, light grain aroma as well. Taste is moderately hopped, and very crisp and fresh tasting. Light bitter finish. Body was light and lively. Overall, a decent pils.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 aracauna (2649) - Georgia, USA - JAN 20, 2003
Pale straw gold body but the head was nothing much. On the nose is crisp, clean hops that are appropriate to the style. The flavor is nice crisp straw malt, a little dry. The hops are just big enough to give it a crisp bite and nothing more. A little sour in the finish.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BoozeHag462 (11) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 29, 2004
A lovely larger, enjoyed on various pub crawls. Great when one can’t stand drinking beers like Guiness. Goes down easily.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 beeryum (652) - Norcross, Georgia, USA - SEP 18, 2005
Draft. Light gold and clear. Light malt aroma, with some corn and slight peppery hops. Huge amounts of noble hops in flavor - peppery and woody, along with some malt. Moderate bitter finish. After reading through some of the other reviews, I think that the brewer is tinkering with the recipe. This version I had was very hoppy, and not too bad. It was a bit unbalanced tho.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Aurelius (3077) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 29, 2002
Grainy aroma. Flavor has a distinct German character and the hopping builds as you drink it. A very clear gold. Crisp and clean.
