COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Known for their rich, full body and warming alcohol notes, imperial stouts were originally brewed to please the Czars of Russia. Max Imperial Mocha Oatmeal Stout has a smooth creamy body and a rich roasted malt character with distinct chocolate and coffee notes.

What can you say about this award winning beer. Chocolate, coffee...pours thick and dark like espresso. One of my favorite beers. If you like Avery’s Yeti or Lagunitas Espresso Stout this one is for you. I wish I could buy this in cans or bottles!

Comes out of the tap a rich coffee brown with a decent buttery-tan head. Scrumptious aroma has vanilla, roast malt, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate and toffee notes. Gets me salivating like one of Pavlov’s dogs! Flavor delights with coffee, vanilla, roast malt, toffee and subtle molasses notes. Texture is fairly firm and quite fizzy. Delicious almost to the max!

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2004 Surprisingly good. Black and totally opaque. Small tan head. Smoky, toasty aroma. Full and rich, it has a burnt toast, coffee, and some dark chocolate flavors, too. Well made and impressive. Sampled at the Great Atlanta Pub Crawl, 2004.

I was quite impressed with Max Lagers. This one sloooowly poured a dark black with a tan head. Very thick bodied. Flavor was chocolate, coffee, mocha, and oatmeal. Yet another great beer on the Atlanta pub crawl!

Pours a thick oily robust black with a dense tan head. Has a rich chocolatey mocha aroma with some hop presence. Body starts sweet with a dry coffee bean finish and caramel malt throughout. Good balance, but could be a bit thicker. Overall a very nice beer though, and one that IMO is more than 6% abv ;)

Pours black with a tan head. This is very full bodied but still seems thin in the flavor. Somewhat oily mouthfeel. Nicely hopped. A nice beer.

Growler. Black pour. Aroma was rich milk chocolate mixed with a deep roasted malt character. Very nice. Flavors were heavily roasted with subtle nuances of cocoa and vanilla, lightly sweet. Finish was bittersweet, lingered nicely. Body was creamy and full, not too shabby!
