COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A vibrantly red Vienna-style lager, Max Red has a smooth toasted malt character created by a blend of Munich, Biscuit and Pilsner malts. Spicy Tettnanger hops add a subtle accent to the finish of this medium- to light-bodied beer. IBU 22 ABV 4.7% O.G. 14ş Plato

Draft. Poured reddish amber with an unattractive fizzy, soda pop head. Aroma and flavor were grainy, quite spicy. Flavor and body were on the thin side.

Thin and slightly sweet. I like a little more body in the vienna style. This is not for the beer geek

Floral hoppy aroma, spiciness in hops, and bitterness. Some malt complexity. Not bad as a vienna but not an outstanding beer. thinish body. Light copper colour with no head

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 30, 2005
Tap, downtown Atlanta. Pale orange-red hue / white head. Spicey hops, light caramel malt, apples. Lightly sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly bitter finish. Cardboard. Medium-light body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. The bottom line is: nothing special...moving right along...

Nuffield (3636) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JAN 9, 2006
Not so much red as much as dark yellow. Nutty, light aroma, a little buttery. Fizzy, cold (too cold). Metallic edge hits both the flavor and nose. Bitter finish. (on tap, downtown Atlanta location)

hotstuff (3917) - Indiana, USA - DEC 18, 2003
Draft at Max Lager's in downtown Atlanta. This beer had a small sized tan head with fine-large bubbles that was mostly lasting. There was no carbonation observed and the body was transparent with a red hue. The nose was malty, sweet and spicy with a light hoppy and mild spice taste to it. The mouthfeel was smooth, thin and watery. This was a light bodied beer with good lacing. This beer lacks character, flavor and it was a rather boring beer to drink and rate.

Eyedrinkale (3213) - Astoria, New York, USA - SEP 7, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2004 Copper in appearance with a small (if any) head. Light caramel aroma with a sour, tangy, lemon-like taste. Tasted a bit like dirty dishwater, yummy.

thedm (4887) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 15, 2003
TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 20. This draft brew was enjoyed at the brewery in Atlanta Georgia. This brew poured a medium sized head of mostly lasting fine to large sized light brown colored bubbles that left behind a good lace and a transparent red brown colored uncarbonated body. It had a very mild red malt aroma. The mouthfeel was thin flat, old and uncarbonated. The flavor was also thin with only a slight red malt flavor to it. It vas very one-dimensional.
