harrisoni (10909) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2005
500ml bottle from Tesco. Ruby red colour with thin beige head. Malty nose with red and dark fruits. Some balancing hop. Dead malt feel in mouth though. Finish has candy sugar, some fruit sweetness and touch of dryness. Nose is fine, but the rest was not that good

Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2005
Bottle (form Tesco BBE Sep 06). To be honest this wasn’t great but no worse than expected. Sure it had lots of interesting caramel raisin and nutty aromas. But the whole thing was too sweet and unbalanced with a touch of alcohol apparent

johninmelb (1003) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2005
Nice dark treacle colour. Lightly spiced fruity nose that carries into the initial flavour. So far so good, but then it develops an astringency that shouldn’t be found in an ale targeted at the market that this one clearly is.

rauchbier (3393) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2005
Bottle, from Tesco. Deep chestnut red, lasting creamy off white head and moderate condition. Oily hop resin and gentle fruity malt with hints of chalky roast barley notes in the nose, pleasant raisin fruitiness in the mouth with a slight oily bitterness developing that ultimately unbalances the flavour. Slight peppery hoppiness in the finish. Some warming alcohol and butteriness also lingers.
