2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask conditioned at The Postern Gate (JDW), York. Medium white head. Sort of copper body. Aroma is nutty. Subtly malty and bready. Just a faint malty, yeasty aroma really. Barely anything on the nose. Dry finish. Like drinking tap water. Not offensive, just nothing there.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
First tasted this at the Golf Inn, Bishopton in May 1982. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale golden amber in colour with a thick foam white head. Sweet golden syrup notes long in the nose. Thick resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts deliver a robust whack of biscuit malt laced with sweet golden syrup in the mouth. Dry bitter hop resins give a strong counterpoint to the sweet malt and give balance to the astringent aftertaste. Finish is dry with warming alchoholic Southern Comfort notes in the throat. A refreshing session bitter.
