Golden color with an off-white head with good retention and nice lacework. Aroma has notes of slightly oranges and grapefruit with some resins hints. Flavor is bittery with fruity notes, mainly orange, tangerine and grapefruit. Bittery final with medium duration.

Thuis een flesje bij de slijterij van alkmaar vandaan. Goudgeel met een witte kraag. Geur met een beetje citruslimonade. Smaak iswat slap met vooral mout en een klein beetje herbal hop. Valt wat tegen

Not a bad ipa. also not very interesting. Looks nice hazy orange. Carbonation is soft prickly. Flavor is dominated by the hops and not much else going on. A bit of malt and some yeast. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Nice for a summer afternoon.

33cl bottle. Clear golden pour with minimal white head, average lacing. Aroma is fresh spruce, resin and bread. Taste is heavily bitter, fresh with full body. Aftertaste is quite short, but nicely balanced to the bitter, hoppy finish. Really nice and well-made beer.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The name should normally the programme - high on hops. Itís a hopped beer and you could call it an IPA. But you could also call it a Pisener - tastewise. In terms of alcohol percentage itís further away from a PisenerÖ But thats the dilemma with this beer. Itís not meat, itís not fish. Itís hop character is somehow castrated. Itís bitter but it lacks the fruity freshness of a classic N.A. IPA and the bitter ease of a classic Pilsener. I hope itís dry hopped - but I canít taste it. And then there is this little jelly bean taste. Not very present, but irritating. Remember your fist Red Bull sip - you got it! Bah! Ok, this is a bit exagerated, but still not my choice!
Itís an overall ok beer. But its not a true style IPA. Maybe you could call it an IPA for Pilsener lovers!

My first beer from this new Utrecht brewery, an American-style India pale ale. Egg-white, moussy, stable head of medium thickness, supported by strong sparkling; colour a warm pinkish orange, slightly hazy, reminding me of a sunrise in September... Lovely aroma of citrussy hops and tons of fruit, forwarding impressions of fresh orange and mandarin, pink grapefruit, honey, banana, caramel candy, sweet white grapes, fresh mango, strawberries, vanilla extract, apple cake, fruit yoghurt, burnt wood, roasted peanuts, pine needles, toasted bread... Vividly fruity onset, mango, persimmon and dried apricot, sharp and minerally carbonation, hop bitterness setting in almost immediately (i.e. sooner than expected), only to increase towards the finish, over a backbone of nutty, subtly toasted and lightly bready malts, smooth and light on the tongue but not lacking in body; some spicy yeastiness accentuates the long, bone dry, peppery and floral, tonic water- and grapefruit-like hop bitterness which will stick with you for a long time. Both florally aromatic hops and the deep, leafy background bittering hops are there and in perfect balance. Totally quenching and elegant. But then, Iím a sucker for IPAs...
