3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a fluffy and slightly off-white foamy head. Delicately bready and slightly grainy malty aroma with a whiff of dough and subtle citric notes, yeasty and herbal spice. Mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Quite slim pale malty base with spicy yeasty notes and a tinge of herbal hops; moderately dry and hop bitter finish. Likeable, although it lacks a bit body; style-wise not overly convincing. 08.IV.14

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appears pale straw with a skim of white head sitting in a gibbous crescent but quickly becoming a good finger of fluffiness when agitated. The aromas are of sour lemon and typical Saison intrigue but gained some bubblegum as it sat in the glass. It smelled light, cool and quenching. A sip said that, yep, that’s what it was. Tart, faintly sour and seemed a lighter example of a Saison... or maybe one that is true enough to a style that seems to be increasingly highjacked by interpretations from the new world.
