chocolate-metal nose, smooth and tender roast onset, silky mouthfeel, interesting contrast to the growing intensity of harsh, burnt toast, burnt oven remnants bitterness. One-dimensional and rough, not my glass of beer.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Gall&Gall Utrecht. Black/very dark brown with a thin beige head. Roasted malts aroma with some coffee. Taste is bitter but with some sweetness. Round body and a rather short but nicely bitter finish. Good one.

On tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam on 20th March 2015. Clear deep brown with pale tan lasting foam giving partial lacing. Spicy, malty roastiness in aroma with Christmas pudding touch. Spicy malty liquid with berry fruits and nutty chocolate. Roasty finish with chocolate touch and nuttiness. Fair bodied with zingy mouthfeel.

Bijna zwarte chocolade bruine kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt drop, chocolade, beetje fruitig. Smaakt bitterzoet, beetje koffie, chocolade, herfstfruit.

Nice clear black/dark colour, with a nice but vanishing head. Aroma of rasins and coffee. Nice carbonation, thickling on the tongue and palate. Very dry, coffee like and roasted bread at first, then sweet rasins and dark chocate and bread/malts. Nice round, decent stout with a big palate of flavours although only 6% in alcohol. Nice!

(Draught at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 27 Feb 2015) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty, balanced and well made stout. Nice one.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, presumably hazy, mid-sized creamy off-white head that slowly collapses; dryish-sourish and toasty nose, some dried fruits detectable as well; medium bodied, almost smooth; relatively dry bitter and also a bit sweet flavour; traces of chocolate, together with a tart acidity, in the dryish bitter and dark-malty finish.
