COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zeer donker bier met de smaken van chocola, geroosterd brood en koffie. De bitterheid komt naast de geroosterde mout van Engelse hop, zoals het een echte stout betaamt.

A very dark red, cloudy beer with a slightly brown layer of foam. In the aroma are the hints of "Bay-leaf licorice" with a touch of caramel. Full, bitter taste with the touch of the roasted malt. The bitterness remains in the aftertaste.

Bottle, 6%. Weak toast aroma. Black colour, red shine. Good stable rocky light brown head. The flavour is papery with a hint of thin coffee. Sometimes I get a touch of metal, but nothing too serious.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy very dark copper brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and coffee. Bitter, roasty flavour, with notes of liquorice and an unpleasant metallic component. Lingering metallic finish. Not as good as I had expected.

33cl bottle, Mitra Nijmegen bb07/2015. Pours a gorgeous pitch-black with a reddish tinge, perfect beige crema. Fresh roast chalk and eggy nose. Good amount of deep roasted cocoa malts, espresso, saltiness and brine, with some manure sneaking in. Nice and modest Goldings profile. Near-dry palate, watery body venturing on porter, quick finish.

Bottle. Dark brown, small to average and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, light caramel and some roasted malt and light chocolate. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish, light caramel and light roasted malt, light coffee. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, some roasted malt and light coffee, faint licorice. Could be drier and have some bitternes to balance sweet aroma/flavor.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2014 bottle, 330 ml Appearance: very dark brown colour with a mid-sized beige foamy head. Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and iodine. Taste: Roaste malts, coffee and suprisingly some smoke which works nice, Quite a bit roasted and smoked bitterness, Which probably worked a bit better with more body.. Sweetness will show up in the aftertaste, but because of the thin-medium body it seems to pass a bit to easy to fully enjoy.

(bottle, 33cl) Darkest brown colour with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Moderately roasty malty, slightly milky aroma with notes of chocolate, espresso, liquorice and iodine. Roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty and slightly earthy malt-character with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, herbal spots and traces of coffee; a bit slim roasty bitter and delicately sweet malty finish with notes of chocolate and hints of coffee in the aftertaste. Decent Stout. 20.II.14
