Zeer donker bier met de smaken van chocola, geroosterd brood en koffie. De bitterheid komt naast de geroosterde mout van Engelse hop, zoals het een echte stout betaamt.

In short: roasty dark ale.
Pours hazy dark copper with nice creamy tan head. Moderate to short head retention, some lacing. Roasty, liquorice, coffee and chocolate aromas. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste follows the nose, quite roasty, coffee, some dry mouthfeel, lacks some more body.

Black with a beige head. Aroma is dates, raisins, caramel, chocolate, brown sugar, hint of vanilla. Medium bodied, bitter on the palate, a little unbalanced. Taste is prunes, citrus pith, bitter floral hops. The taste doesn't live up to what the aroma promises, as the unbalanced bitterness dominates.

On tap at Janoinen Lohi, Helsininki. Pours pitch black with a medium-sized white head. The aroma has roasty maltiness, some rye bread and a touch of dark fruity notes. Taste is initially light sweet, later drier and in the finish light bitter. Roasty, bready notes dominate with some coffee. The palate is medium bodied and the carbonation moderate. Basic, well balanced stout all in all.

Bottiglia, colore nero con un cappello di schiuma fine e persistente, nell’aroma prevale molto il malto unito a cioccolato e una leggera nota di caffè. Al palato mi aspettavo più corpo, invece è molto "liscia" nella bevuta. Carbonazione bassa

(Maximus Stout 6) Bottle 330ml at home, poured inot a snifter, ABV 6% Very dark brown and very close to black in colour. The head is small, one finger inn height, a bit thin, tan in colour, with okay retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chococate, roasted malts, light acid. Taste has again light acidity in it, roasted malts, cold coffee, less chocolate thatn the aroma implied but still there, some fruity touches too, nice bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin on the body, a bit high on the carbonation, quite dry palate. Overall very good.
