Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Near black. Fruity nose with cocoa powder and honey. Sweet with near full body and solid, rounded mouthfeel. Earth, licrorice, pears, chocolate sauce and treacle. Peppery finish with long bitterness.

(Maximus Stout 8) Bottle 330ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 8% As with the Maximus 6, this one is a very dark brown and very close to be called black beer. A bit more than one finger of thick brown head, kind of frothy, collapsing quickly until it becomes a thin line on the beer’s surface, where it stays for quite some time. Sots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of light roasted malts, pepper, coffee. Taste has roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate notes, soem fruity notes on the finish too. Mildly bitter aftertaste, with good duration. Medium body, good carbonation, just as much is needed. Mildly dry palate. Overall a very good beer, I prefer it over the Stout 6.

eelco (40) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 10, 2014
A pitch black beer with a big beige head. Faint aroma’s of the roasted malts, the coffee is there but too far away. Taste is coffee and a little bit of dark fruits. A bit to watery. Ok, but not the best stout around.

Kita (1040) - Koper, SLOVENIA - JUL 26, 2014
Bottle, 0.33l, shared with colleagues. Clear nearly black color with small creamy light brown head and nice lacing. Aroma of heavy roasted malt, coffee, caramel, chocolate and dried fruits. Taste starts with rich and sweet malt, follows by chocolate, herbs and liquorice, mouthfeel is warming, alcohol is well hidden, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Oh yes, this one’s excellent...

lusikka (6206) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 18, 2014
330 ml bottle. Pours a black colour with a small head. Aroma of biscuit, roastiness and leather. Flavour of roastiness, quite heavy grassy bitterness, biscuit, some chocolate and mild citrus. Medium bodied with a slightly too high carbonation. Dry leathery finish. Good.

vanelst (124) - AUSTRIA - JUN 12, 2014
bottle. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Taste is medium sweet, roasted malt, bit of coffee, a bit of hops and a tiny bit of chocolate. Medium bitter finish. Decent and drinkable stout, but nothing to go berserk about either.
