Tap@blackdoor. Black. Dark licorice, milk chocolate on nose. Slight salty. Roasty malty. Soft bodied, light oily. Ok, but for a stout this size pretty average. Dark roasty, some chocolate, bit oily. Ok.

(Keg at Leijuva Lahna, 20140906) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and almost white. Aroma had burnt malts, chocolate and coffee. Palate was almost full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, chocolate, sweetness and bittetness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A decent stout. A bit too burnt.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Near black. Fruity nose with cocoa powder and honey. Sweet with near full body and solid, rounded mouthfeel. Earth, licrorice, pears, chocolate sauce and treacle. Peppery finish with long bitterness.

(Maximus Stout 8) Bottle 330ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 8% As with the Maximus 6, this one is a very dark brown and very close to be called black beer. A bit more than one finger of thick brown head, kind of frothy, collapsing quickly until it becomes a thin line on the beer’s surface, where it stays for quite some time. Sots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of light roasted malts, pepper, coffee. Taste has roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate notes, soem fruity notes on the finish too. Mildly bitter aftertaste, with good duration. Medium body, good carbonation, just as much is needed. Mildly dry palate. Overall a very good beer, I prefer it over the Stout 6.
