COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the”Dreimaischverfahren“(a brewing process) from selected dark malt, our Aiblinger Schwarzbier contrasts with every other dark by the typically fine-spicy malt aroma and the lightly rounded taste. The well-balanced bitter from the BIERART: Dunkel Export Münchner Brauart

Hallertauer aromatic hop creates a wholehearted and, nevertheless, not too sweet taste. A traditional, dark bier, created as it once was, in the finest breweries of Bavaria. The Aiblinger Schwarzbier has been awarded the DLG gold for many years. 12.5°

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Dark brown, some headage. Smells like a chocolate brown ale - which is what it is. Very pleasant German brown. Labelled a Schwarzbier. And a Dunkel. I wish it had been a Schwarz, cos I haven’t had many. Dryer than a standard bland Dunkel, quite a full flavour, but balanced sweetness too. Good.

Lightly sweet, toffee and dark fruit nose. Lightly sweet taste, lightly bitter with light toffee, some herbs, a hint of golden fruit and raisins. Nicely done.

Bottle from Quack-Duck thanks a lot. A clear dark beer with head that goes quickly. Nose is on chocolate and brown bread. Aroma is nice on dark chocolate, toasted and even roasted notes. The texture is creamy, and bread like, this beer is very nice near to porter body, more interesting and creamy than for usual Schwartzbier.

Bottle. Dark brown with a large cream foam. Aromas are malty with mollasses and chocolate. Sweet and lightly roasted. Some herbal notes. Flavours are sweet chocolate and weetabix malts with raisins. Quite vinous. Lightly herbal on the finish. Addictive.

Bottled. A chestnut colored beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and some bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, bread, malt, and some butterscotch, leading to a bitter and bready finish.

500ml bottle. Copper-glinting chestnut with a plump beige foam. Aroma rich and attractive with plummy, sticky liquorice, muscovado sugar and malt loaf tones. Soft, caramel-draped maltiness with dark stone fruit, Nutella-spread toasted black bread and chewy but still juicy prune-like impressions. Pipette of Bovril. Fine malty brew.

500ml bottle (BeerAngel.de) - shared with Mirjukka - thanks!
Deep brown, off-white head. Stodgy malt aroma, some roast. Decent husks - fairly sweet, but not sticky. Husky and roasty finish. Hops gently pop up occasionally and provide some tingle in the mouth. Pleasantly dry. More dunkel than schwarz. And a good dunkel, at that.

Had this during the 2011 Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a clear ruby to cola brown with a thin beige head. Roasnt, dark graininess, chocolate. Big cocoa. Sweet malt and cocoa. Toast, chocolate, cocoa, roast grain.
