COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our noble, typically Bavarian pils is known for its fine, selected hop-bitter and its refreshing taste. In fact, fine Hallertauer aromatic hops make it possible to enjoy a second or third pils. The “premium quality" Pils Maxlrainer is one of the classical Maxlrainer beer specialties and is available in elegant 0.33-liter bottle. This classic beer has been a long time recipient of DLG awards.

18th jan 2014 and I’m now in the Bavarian area of Berlin’s International Green Week: I’m thirsty again and notice a bar advertising Maxlrainer Edle Biers. I order a half litre of Pilsner which is on tap and find a seat to rest on. Light golden, clear and bright, everything a German Pilsner should be. The snowy white head didn’t hang around, again just like most German Pilsners. The beer was crisp but almost odourless, gets my standard 3 for aroma. Dry, hoppy and slightly floral in nature but nothing to put it above or below the regular Pilsners / Lagers of so many places in the world. It refreshed my palate and I moved onto Saxony where more beers awaited me.

33cl bottle, bb today."Awarded annually by the DLG", another. Nice dry quenching Pils with quite a fresh floral hop bouquet, leanish palate and a slightly strange metallic afterbite. Above average.

Klassisches Pilsner ohne große Specials. Recht herb, trocken, leicht bitterer Abgang. Dazu noch Aromen von etwas Heu und Gras. Ganz in Ordnung.

Pours out of the bottle in a clear light golden colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of hops and metall. Taste of bitter hops, grass, citrus and light malt. Metallic hints. Quite unspectacular and lame, too awful metallic-bitter. Average.
