Schloss Gold is the best known of all Maxlrainer beers. The unique Maxlrainer brewing water, as well as the conscientious choice of the finest ingredients create its distinctive mild, wholehearted taste and its delightful freshness. The aging process, which lasts 4 to 6 weeks in the cool warehouse cellars of Schlossbrauerei Maxlrain contribute to the harmonious taste of the beer, which has been for many years awarded the gold DLG medallion.

500ml bottle in my Berlin hotel room late on 22nd Jan 2016. Basic lager/pilsner/helles based golden beer with the usual attributes: clean, clear and bright, fading white crown almost odourless and tasteless, but refreshing. This one has a slightly more malty feel than hoppy, a decent blend but nothing to make it stand out from a very large crowd of similar beers.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of heavy, shared with him and Marko. Yellow/golden coloured, medium sized white head, slightly grainy nose. Sweetish malty, dusty grainy, slightly herbal and whiff of corn with short finish. Usual and boring.

Thanks heavy! Shared with him and ogivlado. Paaale goldenyellow body, tiny thick white head, somewhat lasting. Grainy appley aroma, pungent, meh. Sweet, slightly vegetabley, grainy slightly honeyish taste. The finish is slightly dull. The malty-hoppy notes create a vaguely cereally-fruity thing, on the sweet side, but, though OK enough, it’s not my thing. Slightly stale sugary note in the finish. Hm.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Clear, bright yellow color with white head. Aroma has grains and a bit of bread and honey notes. Taste is really nice for a lager. Slightly sweet and grainy with bread crust and honey notes. No real hop presence. Body is quite heavy for the style and also smooth. Really nice beer overall if you like a slightly sweet lager.

From bottle bought in Bad Aibling. Very nice. Smooth, light, and refreshing. Very much like a Helles. Perfect with my pizza and a great hot weather style.

Pale gold and clear color with quite dense but not smooth foam. Malty and light smoke at nose, and mash taste. Not too much in it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Moderate grain and straw for the malt, light grass for the hops, with hints of cooked vegetables. Head is large, frothy turning rocky, white with excellent lacing and good legs, and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear gold. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes faintly acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is light, watery with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. Light, crisp and easy to drink Helles.
