COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schlossbrauerei Maxlrain brews the Schloss Weisse according to a traditional recipe; the beer retains a much darker color, in much the same manner as it was brewed centuries ago. Schloss Weisse receives its fresh, distinctive, full-bodied taste through a brewing process using selected roasted malt, fine aromatic hops as well as the pure Maxlrainer water. Brewed according to Bavarian brewery regulations, Schloss Weisse reveals its premium quality in its unique, reclosable bottles.

Nice appearance, brownish, nice head, ok aroma. A pleasant beer to drink however a bit to sweet. Maybe not the best example of dunkel weissen.

Another one that Ludo shared with us, thanks! Poured an opaque medium-amber body with a medium sized head. Darker than a hefeweizen, more pale than a dunkelweizen. Creamy aroma, banana, light glue, fruity overall. Creamy, sweetish taste, banana, some yeastiness, sweet, slightly too sweet maltiness, citric notes, caramel, slightly tart. Interesting note of, very light, ?tropical fruit? Soft. Eh, would be much, much better if it wasn’t slightly too sweet, and just a tad messy. Not your typical weizen.

Bottle, pours a cloudy orangey-brown with a big but fast-settling head, banana and a touch of lemon and spice on the nose. Good solid body, crisp and slightly lemony initially, then bready and drying, and finally banana and spice. Really nice weisse.

50cl bottle from some grocery store in Munich. Pours a hazed, deep ruby-orange colored body with a two finger-width, foamy and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is fruity banana esters with a nice caramel note and a good amount of wheat. A light clove spice, some yeast, and a few citrus hints. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened wheats with some bready caramels, a good amount of clove spice, a nice banana, touches of citrus, and a light yeasty note. Finishes clean, somewhat dry, and lightly spiced with a nice fruity touch. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a somewhat lively, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid dunkelwiezen. Flavorful, easy drinking, and well balanced. Good beer.
