Taster – Max’s Fanno Creek Brew Pub – Tigard, OR
Aroma: This had a good amount of hops added along with a nice malt backing.
Appearance: Golden in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: A very well balanced hops to malt. The roasty malt added to the hops which where very powerful.
Palate: Dry finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: Nice IPA.

This pint was listed as an HPA on the menu. No IPA as such was listed. I had a number of tastings before picking this for a growler fill. I took it to a mini-reunion of some cousins from Switzerland. We killed the growler in about 30 minutes and it was a big hit. Nice dark amber with plenty of head and lacings. Nice floral hop aroma and flavors. Plenty of roasted malts to almost match the hop flavors. Nice beer!

On tap at the Fanno Creek brewery. A very vibrant smelling single hopped medium bodied India Pale. Employing yummy Centennial hops, this is an IPA for IPA drinkers. I was inspired to run to my car and grab my trusty growler so that I could bring more of this treat home for later. Great character, color and balance to this true to the style NW IPA.

Sharp citrus and acidic hop nose, kinda borders on the cat urine side, but I find that with high amounts of Centennial hops. Crisp and floral hop profile. Nice IPA that doesn’t go over the top. I prefer a bit more maltiness to my IPAs to balance a bit more, but this was still a nice IPA.
