4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Medium dark coffee brown that has the perfect balance of malt and hops. There is a smooth coffee/toffee taste with a wonderful citrus grapefruit flavor that works amazingly well. One of the best Black IPA’s I have had and possibly the best beer brewed in Middle Tennessee! Try this.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has a bit of chocolate and roast malts. The flavor is very bitter with lots of hop goodness. The finish is dry.

Sometimes I hate character limits. This was a good malty beer, smooth, but with a sourish finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 1/17/15 on tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a thick tan head that leaves average sticky lace. The nose is molasses, coffee, and pine resin hops, some dark bread. The flavor is a touch of molasses bread up front, moving to the nice resin and coffee bitterness. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long bitter resin and roasted coffee finish.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Smoothest IBA I have ever had the pleasure of tasting! Coffee notes aren’t too heavy, floral aroma is perfectly blended with the roasty malts and extra hop addition!

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Flying Saucer Nashville, June 2014. Dark brown pour, almost black, nice tan head, good lacing. Whoaaaa, way too much floral or orange aspect or something... smells like very fragrant cheap hotel soap, no joke. Mrs. Owl wouldn’t even drink it. It’s in the flavor as well, way too strong. Otherwise hints at some roast and chocolate. Gross.

Draft at Flying Saucer Nashville. Deep clear brown color. Aroma of lightly toasted brownies. Taste is pine needles dipped in bitter cocoa and then dunked in coffee. Delicious.
