2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 AirForceHops (1846) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - APR 7, 2013
Draft @ Amesbury Ale House. Snifter shows a hazy, dirty gold color. Good head retention. Nose is all malt, sweet caramel and bread. Flavor is citrus/grapefruit notes with loads of caramel malt. Large amounts of rich malt gives plenty of sweetness; really way too much sweetness. Cloying. Mouthfeel is syrupy and sticky. I can also taste a touch of alcohol. I really was in the mood for a blast of hops when I ordered this, how completely disappointing! Well, you may like it if you like sweet, boozy IPA’s.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BroSpud (1348) - , Massachusetts, USA - MAR 21, 2013
22oz bottle. Hazy golden pour with off white head. The sweet malt flavors overpower the hops in this IPA but it is a good tasting brew nevertheless. The ABV wasn’t listed on the bottle so I was very surprised by the 8.2% with no alcohol taste though I am feeling it as I type this.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tonkun (319) - New York, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Bottle. Hazy golden pour with an off-white head. Fruit, citrus, pine, biscuit. Pine, grapefruit and orange peel. Gets softer and sweeter when beer opens up.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle.. The pour is a slightly cloudy golden yellow that clears up in short order and includes a lasting off-white head. The aroma is very sweet and full of floral hops. For a double IPA the nose is more sweet than you might think. The body is smooth, creamy, and full. The taste is also full of sugar sweetness while the five hops they use to brew this seem more to the background. Hopheads may find this to be too sweet for their liking but I think it is enjoyable brew.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Phatdog1 (113) - Brentwood, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Hazy golden pour into a S.A. Perfect Pint glass. Fluffy white head that sits for some time. Nothing especially noticable on the nose, well citrusy hops, of course. Unexpected buscuity malt & sweet hop flavor. Taste a little boozy finish there. Quite an interesting brew!

Pours deep dark gold into a tulip. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Tropical fruit and resin aromas. Soft with sweet candy corn upfront turning to sweet fruity toffee before the lasting mild resin finish.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Jblauvs (1335) - Amesbury, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 21, 2013
Golden pour with a slight off white head. Aroma is sweet tropical fruit, honeysuckle, biscuity malts, and light bittering hops. Crisp, a bit sweet, and lightly bitter on the finish. Flavor is bursting with ripe tangerine, bitter orange peel, and sugared grapefruit. Alcohol is noticeable, but not bothersome. Sticks around on the tongue with a lingering citrus peel. Sweet, but not obnoxiously so and the finish is dry enough to make it a pleasant quaff. Nice.
