Cask (gravity dispense), Cambridge Beer Festival, May 2006. Well, it had to be tried didn’t it? And what a weird one it is. It does indeed taste strongly of dandelion & burdock - a drink I’d not had for years and thought I’d forgotten the flavour of. That means cream soda and bubblegum. It doesn’t really taste much of beer at all. This leaves me in something of a quandary as to marking. It certainly does what it says on the tin, but I’m not sure that is appropriate in a beer or that I like it too much. However, it does achieve what it sets out to do most effectively so I’ll mark on that basis.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Cambridge BF. A dark brown coloured beer with a cheap supermarket Dandelion and Burdock aroma mixed in with Bazooka Joe bubblegum. The taste is similar with some cheap cola thrown in. All of this makes it sound pretty poor, but actually it’s drinkable and does what it says on the tin. Not sure beer needs to have these flavours though.

Cask at Cambridge Beer Festival 2006. Deep brown colour. Sweet, floral, artificial pop aroma with a touch of anise. The flavour is sweet, almost bubble gum like, flowery, fruit and artificial.
