3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Backlog rating on 8-22-2012 (Bottle) This beer has a large frothy semi-fizzy off-white head with a lengthy retention, slightly hazy golden body, very little carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is malt, pine hops and fruity. The flavor is lightly bitter, malt, pine hops, and has a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this is an easy drinking IPA at 7% ABV as it is very hoppy for the style. It is worth trying and a beer I would drink again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasting session with Frank.

A solid IPA. Nothing to write home about. On the average side with some citrus and a bit of pine.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Cask. Pours a hazy, almost opaque honey golden with a thick pale buff head. Hoppy aroma has a strong yeasty overtone, a lot like like bread dough. Flavor is quite hoppy, more evergreen than woody, with fruity notes - both pomme and citrus - and a malty undertone. Texture is smooth and viscous, but has good fizz, leaving a greenwood finish. May this flower on your palate!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ The Ale house. Lightly hazy golden color with thin head. Served in a shaker glass. Aroma is citrus upfront with hints of floral note afterword’s.
Taste is more of a west coast fresh pine and grapefruit hops. Nice balance of biscuit and caramel malt. Mild earthiness leading into a smooth dry lingering moderately bitter pine finish. Pretty basic but the hops are nice and fresh. Refreshing on a warm evening.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a medium golden with a finger of white foam. Pleasant mix of fresh toasted malt, moderate to light hop presence of pine, citrus, fruity pebbles and field grass with a nice balance between malt and hop but light handed. A strange jello like mouthfeel is apparent but the malt profile and hop layers make it a easy sipper. Clean bitterness on the finish. Good entry level ipa for people who don’t want a bomb of citrus juice or overboard bitter offering.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask. Dark amber, some lacing.
Full body, flat mouthfeel, lacking acidity, carbonation or alcohol to lift it, medium flavor intensity, avg length.
Intense and flowery hop flavor and finish.
Could be very nice if more balanced.

12oz bottle from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. A pale amber pour with a billowing off-white head; floral aroma; soft floral taste with some piney, resinous hops leaving a lingering fresh, grassy bitterness. Good, but not the best East Coast IPA.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rcvd in trade.
The appearance has a somewhat hazy golden orange colored body that shows a nice deal of transparency. There is a one finger white foamy head that rises a bit and then falls leaving a nice deal of foamy white lacing sticking to the sides of the glass.
The smell is malty, earthy and grassy with a decent backing of citrus.
The taste is sweet and earthy through the citrus and malts combining to end up showcasing a sweet malty aftertaste that leads to a dry finish.
On the palate, she sits about a medium on the body, but not as sessionable as I had hoped for. Carbonation comes across fairly odd, but not so much in a bad, as its not harsh nor is it smooth.
Overall, for the most part, its not a bad AIPA, just seems a bit different to me perhaps closer to an EIPA with an added earthy and grassy sort of quality to enhance the beer. If given the chance, I’d seek on tap.
