COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One hundred years after the Mayflower landed at Plymouth, a new beer style emerged in England. Taking its cues from “Three Threads”, a bartender’s blend of three distinct ales, Porter became the beer of choice for 18th-century Londoners. Mayflower Porter embraces this history. This complex brew is smooth and full-flavored with notes of roasted coffee beans and bittersweet chocolate that will warm the palate all year long.

Scored this 12oz bottle via trade. Pours a opaque, sorta thick black that had a nice mahogany red around the edges with a creamy, slighty off white head. Aroma is fairly average, sweet, caramel, dough, maybe a bit of vanilla. Flavor is nice, starts with all those toasted malts, nuts, dark chocolate, coffee and ends with some sweetness, milk chocolate, caramel, brown sugar. Finish has a lingering toastiness that is pleasant and warming.

Thanks to Lunch for this bottle. Served in a SAVOR wine glass. Pours black with a good light mocha head and plenty of lacing on the way down. Thin cap for a bit. The nose is really nice with plenty of chocolate along with a good roast balance. Slight coffee in the background. The flavor isn’t as well melded. Too much roast there. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Pretty good.

such an easy porter to drink, sometimes the palate can be a little rough with porters, but the hops are just enough to ease the malts to not be cloying.

Dry faint coffee/chocolate smell. Very brown with a tan one finger head. Mild bitter chocolate flavor with a hint of spice. Ends with mild sourness with a touch of sweetness. It’s not a bad Porter but seems to lack anything exciting going on.

A ruby-black brew. Good frothy head and nice carbonation. Light sweet aromas. Flavor is nice and roasty with coffee notes. Easy drinking. Lingering sweet coffee finish. Very nice overall.

12oz bottle in an English pint. Pours black with a thick, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some smokiness, a little chocolate, and floral hops. The smokiness in this beer is stronger than most porters, and it’s what I would associate with the porter style. Could be thicker and have a bolder flavor, but very good for its style.
