COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mayflower Summer Rye Ale is our first take on a summer beer. Low in alcohol, this beer combines rye spiciness with mild and fruity bitterness to provide a well-balanced and refreshing beverage for those hot summer days.

Bronze and gold. Nose is pilsner and spicy. Slight honey taste with pine and a touch of rye. Drinkable but pretty one dimensional

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped PKG 6/11/13. The pour is pale yellow and hazy with busy carbonation leading up to a short-lived white fizzy head. The nose is biscuit, lemon, and muted floral hops. The body was light and refreshing. The taste does have a notable grainy or rye quality to it and a mildly tart finish.

Pours pale white golden with a pure white head. Bread, yeast, and lemon in the nose. Tastes of pale malt, yeast, a bit of spice from the rye. Finish is dry with a touch of citrus. Carbonation is a bit strong for what it is.

Bottle. Pours a clear light yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of peppery spices, bready malt. Flavor of light grainy malt, rye spices, peppery spices, lemon. Light, refreshing summer beer (definitely one of the better summer ales out there). 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Not bad... Lemony aroma... Nice aftertaste. It has a nice bottle... Does not have the metal taste that came in the IPA I tried yesterday. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a clear pale straw body with a foamy white head that slowly faded. The nose is The nose is pretty light, just a bit of pale malt with a light rye spiciness and a touch of hops. The flavor is pretty spicy and heavy on the rye despite being so delicate and low on the malt bill. Quite refreshing and thirst quenching session beer. Light bodied and refreshingly crisp with a lively fizzy carbonation level. Very nice summer beer, I could throw down quite a few of these on a hot summer day.

Pours a hazy very light yellow with a durable snow white head. The aroma was fainter than I was anticipating, and consisted of some sour yeasty notes. Bitter hops and rye spice are the main flavors here, no alcohol presence at 3.7% abv. Small floral and pepper notes as it warms, but isn’t that against the point of a summer beer? Pleasant, very drinkable. Very light aftertaste, it disappears to a slight bitterness a second after swallowing. Very active carbonation that bites back a bit, medium body.

Tap at Willimantic. Hazy gold pour with a clingy white head. Nice rye bit to the nose and taste. Easy drinker and full flavored.
