COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mayflower Summer Rye Ale is our first take on a summer beer. Low in alcohol, this beer combines rye spiciness with mild and fruity bitterness to provide a well-balanced and refreshing beverage for those hot summer days.

ohhh the buttery goodness, and so easy to drink, nice that they made it a mild ale instead of going gonzo on it. light brown/red color, taste is of buttered bread with some hop spice and floral notes. yum.

I tried this the same time I had the Wachusett Rye. This one was not quite as good. On the hoppy side, which makes it not all that refreshing.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with moderate white head. Aroma has plenty of yeast and floral hops with some banana. Flavor is a really nice mix of banana, perfume, and papaya. Crisp finish with a light body. Very nice summer beer.

Bottle. One of the uglier beers I have seen. A pale cloudy yellow with hints of orange and a musty white head. Nose is a dry rye note, light pepper and clove. Palate is very stingy with a very dirty and acidic feeling. Flavor is lemon, dirt.

12oz bottle. Not at all what I was expecting but not bad. Similar to a white beer in look and taste. Pours cloudy golden white with very little head. Has a nice spicy bite to it. Amazing that it is this good for such a low abv.

Pours hazy pale lemon into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to skim surface. Wheat and rye aromas. Crisp, sharp rye from front to back. Lasting bitter rye finish. There certainly is rye in this beer. A bit of a one trick pony, but if you’re in the mood for a flavorful low abv beer, this certainly packs a flavor...rye.

On tap at Battleship Brewhouse. Pours a cloudy yellow color. Aroma is of cat piss, lemon peels, slight rye, and citrus. Flavor is nothing impressive. There’s alot of rye up front with a light lemon peel and coriander. It’s seems to be a little skunked. Leaves a bitter unpleasant finish. This one is definitely a swing-and-a-miss.
