Mayflower Summer Rye Ale is our first take on a summer beer. Low in alcohol, this beer combines rye spiciness with mild and fruity bitterness to provide a well-balanced and refreshing beverage for those hot summer days.

It’s hard for me to find a light-bodied session beer that can hold my interest. This one does just that - joining a short list that also includes Pilsner Urquell and All Day IPA. Anyway, this one is very smooth with a hint of floral hops and some nice spice notes from the rye. Quenching & flavorful.

Bottled (backlog). Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is biscuits, white bread, some toffee and mild herbal notes. Flavour is rye, mild toasted and nutty notes along with some bready and florl notes. A bit thin, but tasty.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma hints at citrus. Flavor is more of a lemon wheat beer than rye.

A bottle purchased somewhere in Massachusetts. My wife and went to Plymouth during the first day of our honeymoon; she is a descendant of a Mayflower passenger. Bright yellow beer with some sediment in the glass. After swirling the last pour, it looks like egg yolk in the glass; a cool looking beer. Aroma starts with lemon citrus and grains. The rye is more noticeable in the flavor, even though there is not much of it in the aroma. Light and refreshing. Decent for what it is.

Had a couple pours of this at Mr. Goodbar’s Good Beer Club recently. I quite enjoyed it. Extremely light, kinda fruity. I didn’t get a lot of the rye but it’s not as bad as the reviews imply.

Wholly shit batman this one tastes like shit! Not enjoyable rye. Not a clean rye. I would prefer a rye ipa . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Surprisingly tasty. The nose isn’t much- hay, yeast, lemon, corn (not bad though). Flavors of spice from rye along with a saison like fruitiness. Lot of flavor for such a low ABV. Light yellow with decent frothy head.

Bronze and gold. Nose is pilsner and spicy. Slight honey taste with pine and a touch of rye. Drinkable but pretty one dimensional

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped PKG 6/11/13. The pour is pale yellow and hazy with busy carbonation leading up to a short-lived white fizzy head. The nose is biscuit, lemon, and muted floral hops. The body was light and refreshing. The taste does have a notable grainy or rye quality to it and a mildly tart finish.

Pours pale white golden with a pure white head. Bread, yeast, and lemon in the nose. Tastes of pale malt, yeast, a bit of spice from the rye. Finish is dry with a touch of citrus. Carbonation is a bit strong for what it is.
