Very enjoyable belgian scotch (?!) ale. Poured in to McChouffe chalice. Nose is very sweet and a bit alcoholic. In the mouth it is silky smooth with peaty notes and a pronounced spicy belgian yeast finish. Interesting hybrid.

Strong aroma of dark fruits with some toffee, caramel notes. Dark brown/amber appearance with a big creamy head. Lots of dark fruits, figs, raisins on the taste along with some banana, toffee and caramel. Nice and malty. More sweet than bitter. At first carbonation was very lively but settled down after a bit. Slightly thin. Overall very enjoyable.

Red-mahogany with a cream head. Toffee and yeast rule the nose, light butterscotch. Flavor is sweeter but still quite balanced, still showing heavy caramel malt but additionally some wood and alcohol that brings out chocolate and bitter grass in the finish. Creamy, dry beer. One of the better Scotch Ales that I’ve had.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of malts, scotch, pollen, light yeast, and some ash. Poured brown in color with a large, off-white head, that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small and medium-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, malts, light toffee, slight wood, slight dried ripe fruit, and a hint of fruit. Medium body. Lightly chalky, lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, malt, yeast, and slight wood finish is dry. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

One of my favourites. Aromas of malts, yeast, fruits and spicies. Taste is sweet, malty and yeasty with fruits (plum, orange), raisins and sugar. Long duration aftertaste medium sweet and fruity. Bites of alcohol.

Pours a cloudy brown. Sugary sweet caramel aroma. Caramel, dark fruit, bread dough followed by some slightly astingent and herbal bitterness. Quite sweet but well balanced. Highly drinkable for such a full bodied beer. Becomes more bold as it warms. Overall, excellent ale.

75 cl bottle. Dusty, moldy, vegetal aroma with some caramel. Medium to dark brown color. Flavor of caramel and vegetables. The Scotch ale aspect is rather subdued under a farmhouse flavor, and the two don’t really blend together well.

Aroma of banana, caramel, and some hops. Pours a dark brown with a soapy off-white head. Head quickly disappears. Adequate lacing. Flavors of dark fruit, banana, and caramel malts. Too sweet for a scotch ale. Nice beer though.
