Poured from 330cL bottle. Small brown head. Smell of caramel and alcohol, nothing magic like a Rochefort 10. Nice palate though, light body with a rather bitter ending for the style. Better than average, but not outstanding.

75cl bottle. Dark brown beer with minimal tan head, also rest of yeast are appreciated. Aroma is sweet, brown sugar and caramel. Flavour is alcoholic, candy sugar, with a sweet and long final. Carbonation is mediun-high. Body is full.

From a 330ml bottle on 30/10/2011. Pours a cloudy dark brown with lots of yeast sediment and a big head. The aroma is of toffee, caramel and apples. Tastes like it smells - sweet caramel and apple is present with some mild spiciness and a touch of alcohol. The carbonation is medium to high. Decent but not remarkable.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2011 33 cL bottle into a Mc Chouffe glass in Fiere Margariet in Leuven. Very dark, almost black, with little head, it was perhaps kept a little too cold. Very faint spiced aroma. Pleasant, slightly roasted and spiced taste, with a bit of alcohol. Enjoyable. I prefer it to the blond (and I like that).

Dark brown color, almost black with slight red shine. Great smell of christmas, fruit and marcepan. Mild taste of abbey beer with light sweetness and stronger aftertaste.
