Bottle, 330 ml. Pours murky brown/red, hint of gold perhaps. Minimal head, off-white when present. Good lacing. Pungent, smokey nose with a good dose of molasses or muscavado, honey and bread. Alcohol is quite prominent; little bit of a nose burn perhaps. Distance spices and dark fruits Taste isn’t as sweet as expected, with few notes initially (just a bit of honey and dark fruit maybe) but a good deal of wholemeal bread and other cereals emerging later. Gets quite bitter on the long finish with small coffee notes coming around, along with darker malts. Bitter notes linger for a while. Alcohol isn’t detectable, unlike on the nose. Dark malt and coffee notes are very subtle in the mix compared to how they might be in a stout, but definitely detectable. Do wish there was more going on upfront however. Palate is innofensive with moderate carb and a decent smooth, medium body. Refreshing to an extent. Quite good overall though I prefer my strong dark belgians to be a little more upfront and complex.

Tap in the taverne achouffe. Pours dark brown with a thick creamy beige head. A bit sweet. Malty and nutty. Some fruityness. I have had it many times in bottle. Great beer.

Slightly hazy copper, small, airy offwhite head. Malty aroma with dried fruit notes and alcohol. Fruity, acetic flavour, apples and berries. Caramely maltyness as well. Creamy, fluffy mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle @ The Unholy Trinity Meets Again, Sønderborg. Pours cloudy dark copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of yeast, malt and caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of caramel malt and yeast. Fruity hints. Estery and acetic aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Decent

Butelka, warka do 10 2016. Piwo z kiepska dosc i blyskawicznie znikajaca piana - tylko lekko brudzacy szklo pierscionek zostaje. Brazowo-robinowe, ciemne, klarowne.

Bottle at Turisten, Ljungskile. Pours clear deep ruby red with a massive dirty white head, dissipating quite fast leaving massive lacings. Complex aroma, with roasted notes, caramell, coffee, also a slight fruitiness with hints of red berries, yeast and an earthiness. Taste is beautifully balanced with roasted notes, caramell, coffee, nuts, yeast, raspberries, bubble gum, finishes quite dry and bitter. Medium body, medium carbo, slight sticky texture. Very good, very nice balance.

Corps puissant. Bonne bière.
