Pours a dark copper/brown color with plenty of carbonation and a good head. Aroma of some dark fruits, overall pretty well balanced, but still can feel the alcohol. Has some raisin/plum in the taste and finishes with a bit of toffee/caramel.

Dark amber to brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma of dark fruits, bubble gum, caramel, and soft herbs. Flavor of caramel, honey, herbal hops, and a bit of alcohol. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel with a sweet finish.

Vinx (72) - ITALY - JAN 20, 2015
Hazy amber color with a white vanishing foam. The aroma is mainly dominated by the fruity esters and the phenols produced by the yeast which really is a belgian one, then by the malt caramel sweetness. Sweet, smooth, average carbonation, middle bodied (due to the use of sugar). Not bad but it lacks somehow in personality.

Aroma is sweet, probably yeast mixed with caramel or maybe some fruit like apple. Appearance not the best- 2 finger tan head on a muddy body, but dissipitates quick and with large carbonation bubbles which is not as appealing. Taste is malty, mostly bread. Palate feels a bit too light, not creamy enough. Bit of spicy hoppy aftertaste.

33 cl bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn (around € 2.60 I think). Pours a murky amberish-rusty brown with a big light beige head that retains and laces nicely. Nose is caramelly with black bread dough and dark fruits, molasses and faint spiciness. Strangely I also got a bit of cherry yoghurt in here, and other yeasty side effects. Taste is malty and fruity, the caramel is there but not in the forefront, beautifully balanced by the adjoining grassy bitterness. Don’t get as much alcohol as in La Chouffe. Body low medium , carbonation active, palate somewhat dry and metallic. Warming alcoholic feeling in the throat after downing 3/4 of it. Overall a nice easy-dinking beer with a low risk factor. I do tend to prefer darker Belgians, meaning I enjoyed this more than La Chouffe.

33cl bottle @ home from bier-winkel.com. Body is clear to hazy, ruby-brown, fizzy, tiny particles, Head is medium, rocky, fizzy, mostly lasting, good lacing. Nose is dried fruits, Aroma is cherry bubble gum, caramel, molasses, spice, dark fruits. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, light sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity sweet-sour, light roasty bitter, alcohol warmth. Medium to full body, sticky texture, lively carbonation. Not a tipical brown beer, sourness is not disturbing but makes it Interesting, easy dessert beer.

Inoven (10) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JAN 3, 2015
