3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reddish brown beer, poured clear with a noisy off-white head. Rich malty aroma of semi-dried fruit with booziness to make you cough. Flavour is of a light belgian yeast with prune or date juice but more watery. Mouthfeel is a little thin but overall very good with a refined flavour typical of a high end belgian strong dark ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Murky sediment filled amber brown hue with medium sized lasting beige head and abundant lacing. Complex strong malty - maltexo, dark dried fruit and almond, horse blanket cherry medicine, toffee, bandaid, candy aromas. Sweet malty flavour with subtle sourness. Creamy mouth filling texture, fine carbonation, malty chewy marzipan aftertaste, a bit of alcohol tongue sting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from mane Liquor. A sweet chocolate aroma alongside a tiny bit of funk?(dafuq?) . It’s all booze and a chocolatey-wafer biscuit and pepper in the taste dept. some very subtle blink-and-you’ll miss it bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle poured in a La Trappe chalice.
A: Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a medium beige head with big retention and many lacings left
S: Brown bread and Belgian yeasts are very noticed. Dark fruits, caramel malts and alcohol
T: Taste follows the nose. Intense brown bread and Belgian yeasts. Amazing. Brown sugar and caramel malts. However, the taste is quite dry and bitter. Intense (good quality) hops too. Perfect
M: Creamy and molasses medium body. Reasonable carbonation. Pleasant bitter aftertaste. Dry
O: Excellent beer as expected

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Typical good, dark malty aroma. In the taste some metal, alcohol comes forward, overripe cherry’s. It’s a typical dark beer, to drink with company in the evening after a good meal!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml squat bottle with a BB date of 4/2016 ... plenty of time remaining but the little gnome called out to me from the refrigerator and I couldn’t resist.
Pours hazy dark brown with a durable tan head. Excellent lacing left on the sides of my St. Bernardus snifter.
Aroma: complex and variable, or so it seems. Spicy and yeasty with some alcohol esters.
Flavor: better and more stable if less complex than the aroma. Typical bitter-sweet balance for style (lightly sweet) but perhaps a bit more bitter and sweet than average. Plenty of dark ripe and dried fruit notes, including raisins, dates and dried plums. Faintly yeasty, bready and spicy.
Feel: medium+ carbonation is soft but seems a bit too high; medium body.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle bought at Market Place by Jasons in iSquare, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Looks: Translucent blackish brown colour with no yeast sediments; Half-finger head and crumpety light beige foam which lasts for 1 minute; Excellent sticky lacing and fizzy small carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet dark malt, with cotton candy, sweet caramel, strong vanilla, light banana, strong bubblegum, Bel yeast and light cloves.
Taste: Pleasant, mid to light sweet taste of moderate dark malt, with light assorted dark fruits, grape soda, aromatic spice, light molasses, light alcohol, Bel yeast, light lemon, moderate bitter hops and light grass.
Body: Mid to light body, slick palate.
Mouth Feel: moderate Brown Ale malt, somewhat on the thin side. The Fanta-like grape soda palate gives it a slightly watery feel, but compensated by very aromatic spices, molasses and dark fruits for a very poppy, confectionary vibes. Pretty bright and bubbly for a dark ale. Not bad!...
Hoppiness: Almost no aroma. Nice spicy, light lemon and grass in taste. Bitterness is light but notable for strong Brown for an abrupt, low bitter semi finish.
After Taste: Fairly dry. Candy-ish and easy to mouth.
Comments: This is probably the easiest and naughtiest Brune I’ve had for a long time - fair dark maltyness being seriously boosted by smart choice of Bel yeast to give an average Brune a real magical vibes as if a kid holding a cotton candy in a fairground. Richer malts and thicker sweeter palate will put this one straight on top. An easy one for now.

esta buena pero no es mi estilo; un poco dulce y oscura - cargada de malta pero con mucha azucar
