Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 24, 2003 A brown beer with a great head. The aroma is very fruity and alcoholic with notes of smoked malt. The flavor is very sweet - too sweet for my liking - with a great palate, but no hops to compensate the sweetness. The flavor contains notes of smoked malt, wood and fruits. A fine beer - with great memories. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 21, 2004 Bottled. Ruby colour, lively head. Funky grapefruit mingle with toffee and yeast in the nose. The sweetness is balanced by a rich, but not overly heavy maltiness. There are notes of honey, oak and caramel. The finish is mild with just some grassy bitterness. A malt accented and discretely complex beer. Very pleasant, but not fantastic. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 4, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Dark amber with a reddish tint and an off-white head with pretty good retention. Very malty body with lovely notes of caramel and toffee - and spices too. Very discreet late bitterness. 311296 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 16, 2000 Updated: Sep 3, 2006Medium brown colour with a thick, billowy head. Aroma of yeast, wood, prunes, figs, toffee and bog myrtle. Spicy, yeasty tones overly a rich toffeeish, earthy maltiness. Sweet demerara and deglet noor finish. Sturdy alcoholic punch comes in late. Quality brew, and after 2 years in the cellar it emerges as a world classic. yespr (6259), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 24, 2008 From tap at Ølbaren. Pours deep amber to brown with a dense light tan head, dense. Slight chalky, very fruity, mild wineous and spiced. Flavour is solid spiced, fruity and with a medium dry flavour. Ends with a lingering spice note.
