750ml bottle bought at Ølbutikken, Copenhagen in Dec.05 and shared with CinnamonGirl and Finn at a New Year’s party in Tromsø last Saturday. Dark amber body with a fading head. Earthy, rather smoky aroma. Rounded taste of spicy sweetness and dark fruits supported by winelike notes towards the end (06.01.2007).

750 ml. bottle, bb 2009, tight foam with a winey nose and first sip, very good body and excellent smooth finish with hops and caramel, an outstanding ale

Bottle. Brownish beer with a reddish tint and nice creamy beige head. Spicey yeast aroma with sweet malt backing. Spice and banana flavor with some earthiness and malt. Finishes dry with a slight alcohol warming. A little plum fruitiness.

Aromas of cinnamon and spices in addition to characteristic malts but an otherwise uncomplex nose. Perhaps I had it served too cold. Semi-opaque brown. Pours with a big creamy head. Certainly a good beer.

Poured a cark amber color with a medium sized off white heard and some lacing on the glass. Spicy, fruity, slightly malty aroma. Dark fruits, and sweet caramel are prominent in the taste. Hard carbonated mouthfeel, but I too, would classify this as a dubbel.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of malts, scotch, pollen, light yeast, and some ash. Poured brown in color with a large, off-white head, that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small and medium-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, malts, light toffee, slight wood, slight dried ripe fruit, and a hint of fruit. Medium body. Lightly chalky, lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, malt, yeast, and slight wood finish is dry. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

A nice spiced brown ale with some caramel and malt. Good balance, but needs a bit more complexity - perhaps a bit of ageing?
