3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TBone (9096) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 24, 2005
Bottled 0,75 ltr (BBE 2007)
Red-nut brown color, small steady beige head. Nose has alcohol, caramel, anise and light roasted malts. Liquerish, medium-bodied. Mouthfeel is a mix of carbonation (a bit too much, CO2 makes loud sound too :)) and alcohol. Flavor has yeast, sugar, malts, some fruits (raisins) and wood. Dry woody, slighly alcoholic aftertaste. Maybe not a pure "Scotch Ale", more like Belgium strong ale.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 argo0 (9034) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 11, 2003
Dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, malty, raisin, anise. Taste is sweet, caramel, raisin, yeasty. Finishes with strong alcohol warming. Fairly carbonated, and a pretty full body.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2009 Bottled. Brown beer with a beige head. Sweet and malty aroma. Warming, sweet and malty. Rating: 6-3-7-3-15-3.4. 051028
Bottle, 33cl. It’s a more or less clear beer, dark amber body topped by a beige, finger-thick head. Typical Belgo-sweet sugary nose with a good dash of alcohol and dried fruits. There’s roasted malts in there as well as a spiced note it seems. Sweet, malty flavor with dried fruits and roasted malts. A good alcohol warmth plays with my mouth and throat, and some bitterness lingers. Full-bodied and well carbonated. The finish is lasting and maybe a bit warm for this beer, but overall I really enjoy it. Well worth a revisit or two. 091102

Botella. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a huge well lasting off-white head leaving a good lacing. Aroma of sweet well toasted malt, yeast, caramel and some sweet fruitiness. Good but bit thin mouthfeel. The flavour has a good well toasted maltiness, caramel, yeast, some dark fruits, mild bitter hoppiness and alcohol. The finish is sweet with a good maltiness and some yeast.

Pours muddy brown with a thin head that dissappears quickly. A masterpiece in smell with tones of cinnamon, anis, oranges and fruity tones from the yeast. It is medium to full-bodied. The tasting only enhances the aromatic pleasures. Stunning!
