Sparkling brown look with a small tan head. Earthy aroma of nuts and dust, along with some dried fruits mixed with rum. Sweet sirup flavor, with notes of nuts toasted bread and something sleightly smoked. Its wellmade, just not my favorit style.

Pours a deep brown with a thick white head that lasts and lasts. A very nice sweet beer with brown sugar and caramel along with some alcohol burn and enough hops to give it some bite. I was very happy to get the opportunity to try this one.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2003 Excellent chocolate and toffee nose to begin with. The dry hop presence offsets the malt flavour and then mellows to be a fine resinous ale. Scottish? Well ok, but the Belgian character comes through. RE-RATE: All of the above and then some. This is an excellent beer that toally belies its alcoholic content.

Bottle. Roasted malt, light alcoholic.
Big creamy brown head, long lasting. Black body. Rather sweet start, not bitter, the aftertaste is only a little bit alcoholic.
On the palate the beer is rather medium, creamy and dry with a little bit more carbonation. A really nice beer!

Bomber. Pours brown and cloudy, with a nice fluffy head. Aroma is malty, dried fruit, brown sugar, dry chocolate. Mouthfeel is light, finish is surprisingly quick. Flavor continues malt notes, lightened by fruit notes (probably thrown off by Chouffe yeast). Just couldn’t get into the flavors apparent, perhaps my least favorite Chouffe.

How strange ... a sweet and sour almost Scottish brown ale from Belgium. Cloudy brown with a huge foamy head. Sour ale with sweet dark malts. Exremely spice first kick, followed by sour, sweet dark malt, some fruit. Mouth feel is almost puffy due to carbonation. Finish is slightly bitter and only lightly hopped, tannic and dry.

Tap at Andy’s. Brown with red higlights and light brown head. Good lacing. Nose was fruit and good yeast. Fine mouth feel. Malty after taste. Very Nice.

25oz - Sweet yeasty aroma with red grapes, cherry, and a touch of vanilla. Pours a huge head with a great thick lacing over a cola looking brown body. Flavor is also sweet and yeasty with carmel malt to smooth it out. Nice spice kick too. Palate is a bit dull and slick. Not bad.
