Mc CHOUFFE is an unfiltered brown beer which is refermented both in the bottle and in barrels. Its fruity bouquet conceals a hint of bitterness.

Fantastisk øl der gør det godt både som hygge øl men bestemt også sammen med mad. Jeg drak den til thailandsk mad, hvilket gjorde det hele godt.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2007 This is almost as good as Chimay Blue or Grand Reserve. It is one of the best examples of a Belgian Strong ale that there is in the World.

This is one great beer. A wonderful flavor, not sweet. Creamy for sure. A bit of spice but some good balance between light and heavy. Truly excellent.

Very Belgian. Not too sweet. Alcohol tastes stronger than it is, at 8%. Good, strong but easy drinking.

This is a really fantastic beer, very complex in flavor. Nice balance of hops and malt. Has flavors of bananas, figs. and plum. Very complex and delicious.

75cl bottle from a bottle retailer. It pours a murky dark amber-brownish liquid with a high and consistent tan head that lasts throughout the beer and leaves a nice lacing. It looks delicious. The aroma is very complex: at first, some smokiness comes to your nose, later followed by some dark fuits, spices, burnt caramel and brown sugar. The flavour is very similar, but less smoky and with a little wood. It is extremely sweet, but not annoying; it blends perfectly with the alcohol, giving a pleasant maltiness with no booze to sense. There is also a little bitterness, which is stronger in the aftertaste, when some grassy hops suddenly appear, along with a new hint of smoke. It is softly carbonated, with a full body and a creamy mouthfeel that leaves all your mouth wanting more. It ends dry. Perfect presentation for a nearly perfect beer! A MUST!

Dark amber, creamy head. Thick malts with hints of liquorice. Lovely, slightly better than its non-scotch sibling!

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2014 When you see rings of foam on the glass, that’s it! In mahogany color, caramelized plums and toffee, little bit thin but strong, which is interesting sometimes when we are talking about brown ale. Newcastle Brown Ale in higher class! In Belgrade fine shops it is possible to find it regularly. Tried in Belgian chalice.

THE best Belgian beer I’ve tasted since being in Europe. The fact that it has all natural ingredients is a plus, it’s so smooth you don’t even notice that is 8% Abv. Plan on touring the brewery before I leave, just in love with this delicious beer. Your palate will thank you and me when you try it.
