Dark brown with red hues and a dense head. Somewhat sweet, very spicy, malty, with toffee and caramel, a bit peaty, slightly hoppy & somewhat smoked, dry, yeasty aroma. Very balanced taste. Leans to the dry side. Lots of spice (cinnamon/pepper), raisins, butterscotch, cookiedough and vanilla. Great long lasting finish, very nice smooth smoky malt & vanilla. Low/medium carbonation, solid mouthfeel - very thick and substantial. Very good.

Pours brown - cloudy, opaque - with a thin, light tan head that leaves a heavy lace on the glass. The aroma has a lot of chocolate, some maple syrup, some spices, some grassy notes, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is very nutty, very chocolatey, some maple syrup, sweet malts, mild taste of funky yeast and fruitiness, and mild hop bitterness. Alcohol is also perceptible in the flavor, but barely so. The beer finishes somewhat dry. The mouthfeel is creamy, bubbly, and not too thick.

Rating 200. 750ml bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a small puffy tan head. The nose is malty and slightly sweet. The taste is really right on. It is sweet, malty and tangy with bits of caramel and a variety of malt flavors. Delicious.

Pours a clear, but dark, ruby. Some tan head. Nose is slightly sweet with a fruit edge. Flavor is mild with a strong sweet tone that has hints of a slight spice and a barely noticeable alcohol tone on the end. Feel has a slightly thicker bubble on it. Easily drinkable.

Bottled. A deep reddish brown beer, with a rocky and creamy light brown head. Fruity complex aroma. The flavour is sweet malty, with some vinous and woody notes. The bitterness is very low, but enough to balance this beer. The body is quite powerful and the aftertaste is quite long. A great beer.

Sweet aromas, that are surprisingly absent in taste, a healthy amount of dark fruit esters and a faint oaken nature. McChouffe is dark brown in color, with a thin white collar. The initial taste is of dark fruit, a little fig or raisins with a dash of spices to include some faint clove, some underlying Belgian yeast, and the softest hops, there is also a mild oakey flavor to it as well. The feel is superb with a very pleasant spicy start, and an effervescent dark fruit fizz and feel at the end.

12oz bottle into chalice. Pours opaque, cloudy dark brown bordering on plum, with a gigantic, pillowy tan head that eventually settles down to a creamy cap of foam. Nose is brown sugar and ripe dark fruit, some spicy yeast, bit of alcohol. Taste is brown sugar, fresh baked dark bread, and spicy yeast, hints of cocoa and licorice, and dark fruit coming out a bit in the finish. Finish is fairly clean, bready, some yeast, bit of alcohol as well. Mouthfeel is decadently creamy, full but still a bit light, carbonation is superbly subtle - soft and creamy with just a bit of bite at the front of the mouth. Delicious, superbly crafted beer.
