Bottled. Ruby colour, lively head. Funky grapefruit mingle with toffee and yeast in the nose. The sweetness is balanced by a rich, but not overly heavy maltiness. There are notes of honey, oak and caramel. The finish is mild with just some grassy bitterness. A malt accented and discretely complex beer. Very pleasant, but not fantastic.

This is an interesting artisnal ale that really has a lot of depth to it. There are notes of vanilla, pepper, corriander and a sweet musty flavor from the yeast. It masks its alcohol content really well and provides a nice finish after swallowing. Should be drunk with a large mouthed glass to really experience the aroma and lace.

Dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, malty, raisin, anise. Taste is sweet, caramel, raisin, yeasty. Finishes with strong alcohol warming. Fairly carbonated, and a pretty full body.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2007 Served on bottle at "Den Tatoverede Enke", Copenhagen. Beautiful brownish/ruby colour with a huge lasting head. Aroma and flavour was nice too with lots of malts, burned caramel, and brown sugar. Perhaps a bit sweet but nonetheless a wonderful Belgian interpretation of a Scotch ale! Update: According to Mik Schack thyme is added providing a very subtle spiciness.

This beer poured a dark amber color and formed an off white bubbly head that left some circular lace. Some carbonation present. An aroma of malt and caramel. A flavor of malt and caramel. Some dry elements in the finish. A good beer

Clear, ruby-colored ale. Creamy, off-white head. Slightly retaining. The nose is of smoke, alcohol and molasses. The flavor is of caramel, toffee and alcohol. Full-bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel. Short, dry, crisp finish! My favorite style. A very good brew! Just short of world class!

Another unique beer. Fruity, malty, also something cherry.
