750 ml. Reddish-brown, bourbon, color with a soapy white head. Toasty and sweet nose - malty with a touch of resin. Overripe fruit (pears, apricots), some alcohol. Flavor is smooth, but less complex. Slightly metallic finish. Nutty, highly effervescent. A clearly belgian twist on a Scotch Ale.

Aroma is a mild roasted scent. Color is a deep hazy orange brown with good carbonation and a tight tan head. Taste is mildly sweet. Starting with a light body it goes down easy with a slight crispness. Finish comes in with a mild sweet roasted malt flavor and a little caramel with hints of fruit, then ends with a very mellow bitterness. After taste is clean with a slight warming feel. This brew is much lightly then it looks, this is not a bad thing. Its a delicate flavor that gets better as it warms up. Don’t try this brew too cold, the bottle says drink it between 50°-55° and that’s where the flavor really shows up.

750 mL (green) bottle. (bb 25/07/2010). This beer is brown with a nice, persistent beige head. Nice lacing as well. Tonnes of sediment. The aroma is malty sweet, a little chocolatey, with some burnt caramel. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. The flavour is about right, with lots of caramel, some maple syrup, a little spice, and a bit of alcohol at the end. No bitterness to speak of. Medium-low carbonation. I like.

Aroma of caramel. Pours a dark brown with a fading head. Very smooth and carbonted and pleasant; somewhat heavy on the throat though. This is an interesting ale that I don’t know how to label. It aint a scotch ale, a brown ale or an abbey, but it’s definetly belgium; and that’s a good thing.
