Mc CHOUFFE is an unfiltered brown beer which is refermented both in the bottle and in barrels. Its fruity bouquet conceals a hint of bitterness.

Brown sugar and raisin nose. Cloudy brown, medium beige head. Malty, with a surprising bit of funk for the style, brown sugar and raisin on the back end. Great balance, not overly sweet. Not all that fantastic, but very well made.

Bouteille 33cl,V&B Grenoble.

Thick cloudy copper color, with a red hue, very active, and chunks of floating yeast. Frothy light brown 3 finger head, lasting around 10-15 minutes, with thick legs. Flavors of dark berries, plums, cherries, nuts, cheese, wild yeast, dark grains, wood, herbal spices, faint coffee and chocolate. Highly sugary, with soft sharpness, and bitter herbs. Slick light body with crispy carbonation. Strong but pleasant finish, vinous and dry, lingering sour fruits with a barrel aged feel. Good as an appetizer. Bad freshness, deadly yeast. Decent flavors and a balanced feel. Overall good quality craft. Too much yeast, disgusting huge chunks, maybe a bad bottle?

I fell in love with this beer the moment I tried it. Nice dark appearance. Pedro Ximinez sherry notes on the nose coming through on the palate, alongside biscuity flavours and liquorice. Warming.
