May 16, 2008 Deep copper to red-brown color with a thin tan head. Smells very much of toffee and sweet malts. Flavor is pleasantly bitter, with some hints of nut and caramel malts. There’s a little bit of spicyness in the middle somewhere, and it’s kind of toasty. Carbonation is pretty much regular, and it’s reasonably thick too. Very nice beer. AaronBouchard (101), Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Mar 23, 2008 Brown color that is a little lighter then root beer. Smells a tad spicy has very small and quick head. Taste sweet roasted nut right away off the first mouthfull. Easy drinking premium red with only little bitter. glennmastrange (362), hobe sound, Florida, USA Mar 13, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of toasted and dark bread, light herbs for the hops, maybe earth for the yeast, with hints of toffee and brown sugar in the background. Head is bubbly, off white, with a little lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is a clear, dark red/brown. Flavor is slightly sweet and moderately acidic to start, and finishes lightly acidic and light to moderately bitter. Palate is light, watery then dry, and has a lively carbonation. It finishes lightly astringent. It starts as an ok beer but finishes with somewhat of an unpleasant mouthfeel. KnN (199), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Feb 29, 2008 Caramel aroma. Pours a nice red color with a lot of carbonation although the head thins out quickly. nice nutty flavor but a little metallic on the back end. Decent beer but nothing special.
